While speaking to Aysor.am, ARF Bureau member and Director of Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Bureau’s Armenian National Committee and Political Affairs Office, Giro Manoyan stated that it is surpising that there is no mention of Armenian-Turkish relations within the government program.

When asked if the position of the Armenian side is not adequate considering the fact that Turkey is currently showing interest in normalizing relations with Armenia, Giro Manoyan replied:

“No, because if we do not address it, it means that it does not matter to us either. In that case, Turkey’s position will be justified. It will be as such that Armenian-Turkish relation normalization is not only important to them [Turkey], but also for Armenia.

It is true that in this case we have nothing to concede, but it would be right to always demand that Turkey not show hostility towards Armenia, establish diplomatic relations, remove the blockade and all this, without any preconditions.” the ARF member pointed out.

Giro Manoyan did not want to further comment on the topic, explaining that the ARF Dashnaktsutyun will issue a more comprehensive statement on the government’s program in the next few days.
