Anouncement of ARF Bureau
19 May 2019
For months on end, the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun has raised concern that political intolerance in the country will inevitably lead to splits and hatred within the people. Unfortunately, this has now become a reality. By causing factions and strains within the people, separating the people between “blacks” and “whites”, the government’s policy of dividing their peers and enemies has already manifested.
A longtime representative of the ARF Bureau, an organizer of the Artsakh Liberation War, Hrant Margaryan was attacked by a mob of mobs while walking in Liberty Square with his grandchildren.
Public behavior norms have already become irresponsible, aggressive appeals and hate speech to spread intolerance and hostility. The street lobby has already made the authorities’ slogans a rule of conduct.
The public tyrant, who does not have a national and human nature, is now trying to impose his will and values on the people. For months, the media and public platforms have been organized, directed and sponsored anti-propaganda against the Dashnaktsutyun party and its members, inflicting hostility and hatred.
We assess the threats and aggression aimed at Hrant Margaryan and the Dashnaktsutyun as a clear, directed action and insidious act against the pan-Armenian family of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun. In many cases in the past, we have kept silent to show social solidarity. Perhaps our silence and failure to take adequate steps have allowed for some people’s poor attitude to continue unpunished. We will not tolerate this anymore because the aggressive, street mentality individual is not a representative of our society.
We demand from the authorities and law enforcement agencies to evaluate the incident in the shortest possible time period, punish those guilty to the law’s extent and put an end to this kind of practice forever.
