At the conclusion of his working visit to Brussels, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Chairman of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) in Armenia, held a meeting with Kostas Mavrides, Member of the European Parliament representing Cyprus and a member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) political group.
Mavrides has been a longstanding supporter of Armenian issues in the European Parliament, actively participating in initiatives and legislative efforts concerning Armenia and the Armenian people. Several months ago, he organized an international conference at the European Parliament focused on strengthening the European Union’s involvement in securing the release of Armenian prisoners held in Baku.
During the meeting, Saghatelyan and Mavrides discussed a range of issues of mutual concern to the Armenian and Cypriot peoples.
Saghatelyan briefed the European parliamentarian on Armenia’s domestic political situation, presented the ARF’s assessments of recent political developments, and outlined the external challenges facing the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Saghatelyan invited Mavrides to visit Armenia to gain a firsthand understanding of the situation on the ground and to discuss opportunities for further cooperation and joint initiatives.
The meeting marked the conclusion of Saghatelyan’s working visit to Brussels, during which he held discussions with European political representatives on developments in Armenia, regional challenges, and issues affecting the Armenian people.
