The ARF Bureau Youth Office reported that representatives of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Youth participated in the 11th General National Congress of the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS), held in Beirut from July 29 to 31, 2026.

The congress brought together Palestinian, Arab and international youth and student organizations to discuss political and regional developments, strengthen cooperation, and reaffirm international support for the Palestinian cause.

The ARF Youth delegation included Sherilin Diratsouyan of the Zavarian Student Association and Garen Hergelian of the Lebanon Youth Union.

According to the ARF Bureau Youth Office, the delegation raised the issue of Artsakh during the congress and in meetings with Palestinian leaders and representatives of international youth organizations. The delegation highlighted the forced displacement of the Armenians of Artsakh, their right to return to their homeland, and the need for the immediate and unconditional release of Armenian prisoners held in Baku.

As part of the program for international participants, the Zavarian Student Association representative also visited the Shatila Palestinian refugee camp and learned about the historical experience of the Palestinian people.

During the closing ceremony, the ARF representative delivered a message of support for the Palestinian people and their cause, while emphasizing the role of youth and students in defending justice, national identity and the rights of peoples.

The congress also included a visit to the Abraham Ashjian Youth Center by International Union of Socialist Youth President Sergio Amante and General Union of Palestinian Students representative Saif Akel. ARF Lebanon Central Committee member Yeghia Tashjian also participated in the meeting.

Discussions focused on the role of youth and student organizations in advancing the Armenian and Palestinian causes, as well as prospects for future cooperation and joint initiatives.

The ARF Bureau Youth Office said the participation of ARF Youth in international youth and student platforms remains an important means of strengthening cooperation with partner organizations and advancing the Armenian Cause and the rights of the Armenian people internationally.
