ARF Bureau Representative Hagop Der Khatchadourian Visits Cyprus

On Sunday 9 June, 2019, Dr. Eleni Theocharous welcomed at her home the Representative of the ARF Bureau Hagop Der Khatchatourian, the President of the European Federation for Justice and Democracy EAFJD Kaspar Karampetian, European Affairs head Heghine Evinyan, the Chairman of ARF Dashnaktsoutiun Cyprus committee Simon Aynedjian and the Chairman of the Armenian National Committee of Cyprus Hagop Kazandjian.
Afternoon, the occasion of 101st anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia, a celebration was organized in Larnaca, by the ARF Cyprus Committee, Homenetmen-HEM, Hamazkayin Cyprus “Oshakan” chapter, ARS Cyprus “Sose” chapter, ARF Armenian Youth Organization of Cyprus and other organizations of the Armenian community.
The Representative of ARF Bureau Hagop Der Khachadourian attended the celebration, and gave a speech to the community.
On June 10, the President of the Cypriot Parliament Demitris Syllouris welcomed a delegation comprising of the Representative of the ARF-Dashnaktsoutiun World Bureau Hagop Der Khatchadourian and the Armenian National Committee of Europe (EAFJD) President Kaspar Karampetian and Executive Director Heghine Evinyan. The delegation was accompanied by the Armenian MP in the Cyprus Parliament Vartkes Mahdessian, the Chairman of ARF-Dashnanktsoutiun Cyprus Gomideh Simon Aynedjian and the Chairman of the Armenian National Committee of Cyprus Hagop Kazandjian.
Continuing his visit to Cyprus, the next day, Hagop Der Khatchadourian continued his meetings with Cypriot government and party officials and met with the former President of the Cyprus Parliament and President of the newly-formed DEPA party, President Marios Garoyian. He was accompanied by DEPA liaison Hratch Kazandjian and members of the ARF Dashnaktsoutiun Cyprus Committee Raffi Mahdessian and Nareg Tavitian.
At noon, Hagop Der Khachadourian also visited the Armenian Diocese of Cyprus, where his delegation was greeted by the General Patriarchal Vicar of the Cypriot Diocese, Archbishop Khoren Doghramadjian.
Der Khatchadourian also visited the Nareg school in Nicosia and met with Principal Vera Megerditchian Tahmazian and members of the Nareg School Committee. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the ARF Dashnaktsoutiun Cyprus Committee Simon Aynedjian.
Continuing his meetings with Cypriot government and party leaders and met with the President of the Socialist EDEK party Marinos Sizopoulos. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the ARF Dashnaktsoutiun Cyprus Gomideh Simon Aynedjian. Both parties are members of the Socialist International. ARF Dashnaktsoutiun first joined the SI in 1907.
