In a statement issued on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia’s independence, the ARF Supreme Body of Armenia reflected on the significance of September 21, 1991, and reaffirmed its position on Armenian statehood, national identity, sovereignty, and pan-Armenian unity.

The statement emphasized that independence is not merely symbolic, but a means of preserving Armenian identity, protecting collective rights, and ensuring the long-term security and continuity of the Armenian people.

Dear Compatriots,

On September 21, 1991, the Armenian people reaffirmed their will to live freely and independently, building upon the Declaration of Independence, the founding document of our modern statehood.

The hardships and sacrifices endured by our people over the centuries have led us to a clear truth: independent statehood is not an end in itself. For us, it is the one indispensable means of preserving our national identity and ensuring the enduring existence of the Armenian people.

The blood shed by our martyrs and the sacrifices borne by generations were for the establishment of a state that is ARMENIAN in its essence, spirit and substance.

A state that does not renounce its history, its roots or its pan-Armenian aspirations, but instead serves as the defender and advocate of the security, dignity and creative potential of Armenians everywhere.

Today, as we face grave threats to our identity and the weakening of our statehood, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation reaffirms its unwavering position:

● Defend our identity and values,
● Struggle for a truly sovereign, secure Armenia founded on national values,
● Restore pan-Armenian unity and solidarity in defense of our statehood and collective rights.

Our struggle continues. The Armenian state must live and endure in accordance with its true essence and mission.

Long live the independent Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people throughout the world.

We bow in reverence before the eternal memory of all our martyrs.
