According to the latest data published by Armenia’s official statistics, during January–November 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, key demographic indicators recorded a significant deterioration. In particular:

• The population vitality coefficient, the ratio of births to deaths, stood at 127%, declining by approximately 6 percentage points.

• Natural population growth, the difference between the number of births and deaths, totaled 6,228, decreasing by 1,383, or 18%.

• The number of births amounted to 29,337, declining by approximately 1,524, or 5%.

• The number of deaths remained nearly unchanged.

• The number of marriages totaled 12,672, decreasing by 1,643, or approximately 12%.

• The number of divorces reached 4,419, increasing by about 140, or approximately 3%.

• Deaths among infants aged 0–1 totaled 207, increasing by 16, or approximately 8.5%.

• Deaths among children aged 0–4 totaled 251, increasing by 25, or approximately 11%.

These deeply concerning demographic trends are characteristic of the current government’s period in power and are largely the result of the anti-social policies being pursued.

The quality of life of approximately 40% of Armenia’s population, particularly among the most socially vulnerable groups, has deteriorated. This includes pensioners, social benefit recipients, the working poor, the poor, and the extremely poor. These conditions have led to a sharp decline in marriages for social reasons, an increase in divorces, rising mortality rates, including infant mortality, and, naturally, a decrease in the number of births and an increase in emigration-related indicators.
