(Horizon Media / YEREVAN) — ARF Armenia Supreme Body representative and Armenia Alliance MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan said the election results have called into serious question not the legitimacy of the opposition, but that of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his political team.
Saghatelyan said that despite unprecedented foreign support, the extensive use of administrative resources, and numerous irregularities, the ruling party still failed to secure more than 50 percent of the votes cast. He added that opposition forces, despite widespread repression and electoral violations, won a combined total of around 550,000 votes.
He rejected Pashinyan’s assertions that the opposition’s votes were fraudulent or obtained through vote buying, declaring: “If there is an illegitimate political force in this country, it is Nikol Pashinyan and his political team.”
